Coupling Failure

One of my gifts to Dina was the third season of Coupling on DVD. We laughed ourselves silly until the 4th and 5th scenes of the fourth episode. The picture became pixellated and unviewable.

This didn't surprise me. When I bought the DVD last week, the customer ahead of me in line returned his copy for reasons of pixellation. Forewarned is forearmed, after all.

So Dina and I exchanged the DVD last night for another copy. There were no problems with the staff.

The problems were found at home. The exact same pixellation problems, in fact. In exactly the same area.

So I'm off to return this copy to the store this afternoon. Maybe they just got a bad batch.

Coupling is quite a great show. Absolutely gut busting laughter, combined with exquisitely painful torturous embarrasment. Just beautiful. Started watching the 4th season. Ow.

I hear that Jeff's not going to be in Season 4. The world needs more Jeff! And more Spider-Man!

I was surprised at how quickly Steve & Susan were "Monica & Chandler"ed by the end of Season 3. They went from being plausible characters to doltish/snippy caricatures.

Thank goodness for Jeff, Sally and Patrick!

Jeff's there.

Not being a fan of Friends I can't really compare.

I still enjoy the situational comedy that arises. Certainly the feel I got from Friends, from what little I saw of it after Chandler/Monica, was that it lacked a lot of the earlier fun and became more `serious' for lack of a better term.

Also despite the Steve/Susan situation their respective dealings with the other guys/girl groups of the show have really not changed. They still have the same style of communication and problems as before.

Which is a large part of the enjoyment for me.

Nope, I'm a confused individual.

I was remembering the end of season 3.

No Jeff in 4.
