TravelMontreal is easily accessible by air and rail. Within the city itself, nearly everything is within walking distance, or within reach of the extensive public transit system. Here are some maps from Tourism Montreal that can help you out:
AccomodationsAs much as possible, we will try to board visiting players with local players, but this is not guaranteed. Gary Devouges will maintain a waiting list for visiting players who would prefer boarding to hotel accomodations, and will make hotel reservations for visiting players upon request. Hotel accomodations are usually plentiful, and a room for four people runs at $193/night (Canadian, of course) downtown. You might want to take advantage of the weak Canadian dollar! If you want to search for hotel accomodations yourself, here's a list of the hotels in downtown Montreal (make certain to inquire about the distance to the Atwater Library). The search results link just died on me...I'm going to find another listing. There are also a few week-long apartment rentals available, if you go a little further afield than the downtown core. These places have kitchens, and can usually fit four to six people.. Check out No More Hotels for ideas. Gary Devouges has a list of likely candidates. RegistrationWe're asking for a registration fee of $25 US/person for the weekend. There are no single day or two-day packages. This registration fee pays for the rental of the space, and the purchase of all the prizes. The fee does not cover food, lodging, snacks, card sleeves, etc. We can accept payments by cheque, money order, or Paypal made out to Stephen David Wark. See the Contacts section for more information. No registration deadline has been set.
